Y´all, all this hate has to stop, do your work!

LinkedIn Post

I prepared the following post some days ago – and after this weekend, then an 18-years-old white racist shot 11 Black and 2 white people – more important than ever. Please y´all, all this hate has to stop, do your work!

Since a few weeks, I am proud to be part of the team of ellen wagner unlimited LLC
For those of my network who doesn’t know Ellen Wagner; She is a wonderful trainer, a truly expert in Anti-Racism, and a brave fighter for the LGBTQIA* Community.

Well, I am not Black, and I am not a member of the LGBTQIA* Community. So, why do I work for the DEI and go deep into all of these topics?.

It is just simple: SOLIDARITY

Supporting, being an Ally – especially as a white and privileged person!

I am always surprised (and shocked as well) when I speak to my privileged environment about racism or diversity topics. I had some talks with disgusting comments – I would never repeat. Primarily defending the „normal“, and their narrow perspective. Or they just don’t care because it doesn’t affect them.

Why is it for some people so hard to stop talking and just listen? Just listen carefully to how some people feel and how sayings or acting can hurt people so badly. It makes me angry and speechless.

But who likes to throw the first stone if you never made a mistake

But who likes to throw the first stone if you never made a mistake – I did a lot in the past, and may I still do some.
Nevertheless, for some years during my intercultural journey, I have been learning daily. And everything is a process: realizing our former socialization, growing and changing our habits. And hell yes, it is hard, hurtful, and, first of all – very shameful.

But it is more important than ever to break the so-called norm. It is time to stand up for a more justice world and raise our voices against discrimination of any kind. We are a lovely and diverse world, and we all „have to“ work on it to create a safe space for all people – independent of skin color or sexual orientation.
And just the famous snowball system (of privileged people!!!) is the possibility to break the bias in our society!

So, thanks Ellen, for giving me the chance to support, letting me grow, and be a good Ally.

If you want to learn more, please join Ellen’s Conversation Room:
The „Conversation Room“ is a format where she wants to let people have their say who are often underrepresented and offer a space for exchange.
In the following one, the topic is all about Solidarity, why it is necessary, and what our challenges are.

Ellen will discuss with other experts how we all can learn and empower social justice and improve human conditions by building bridges.

All events can be followed either via the live formats of the LinkedIn, YouTube, or Facebook platforms.
